Christmas Decor

In this section we are proud to offer a large selection of traditional German Christmas Pyramids , Arches ( Schwibbogen ) and lighted Stars. Pyramids and Arches originated in the Erzgebirge region of Germany, an area known for its high quality wood work. The Erzgebirdge, or Ore Mountains, is also well known for mining.  Mining being a dangerous profession, the question of how to support disabled miners was always a concern.  They began to carve Pyramids which resemble a common peice of mining equiptment and the quaint tradition of Christmas Pyramids was born!  Over the years, Christmas Pyramids have grown in size and complexity until they resemble the delightful Christmas tradition we know today.
